How to Prevent Stripped Threads on 4V210-08 Valve Bodies

Protect Your Investment: Avoiding Thread Damage in 4V210-08
The Airtac 4V210-08 body is made of high-quality aluminum alloy, but aluminum is softer than the steel or brass fittings often used with it. Stripping the threads is a common and expensive mistake.
1. Proper Starting Technique
Always start the fitting by hand. If you feel resistance in the first two turns, back it out and try again. Cross-threading is the #1 cause of discarded 4V210-08 valves during assembly.
2. The Role of Thread Sealant
Avoid over-tightening to stop a leak. Instead, use a high-quality PTFE (Teflon) tape or liquid thread sealant. For 1/4" ports, 2-3 wraps of tape are sufficient. Warning: Ensure the tape does not hang over the end of the fitting, or it will enter the 4V210-08 and clog the pilot hole.
