A common debate among technicians is whether the Airtac 4V210-08 performs better in a vertical or horizontal position. While it is versatile, orientation affects wear.
1. Horizontal Mounting (Recommended)
Mounting the valve horizontally allows the spool to move without fighting gravity. This ensures the most consistent response times and even wear on the NBR seals.
2. Vertical Mounting Risks
If mounted vertically with the coil on top, gravity helps the spool return but can also cause "grease migration" over millions of cycles, where the lubricant pools at the bottom cap. Pro Tip: Never mount with the coil facing downwards, as this traps heat and can cause the pilot orifice to collect any debris or moisture in the air line.
