Managing Pilot Exhaust: Tips for Airtac 4V210-08 Venting

The Hidden Port: Understanding 4V210-08 Pilot Exhaust

Most users focus on ports R and S, but the Airtac 4V210-08 also exhausts air through the solenoid stem during every cycle. Managing this "Pilot Exhaust" is key for cleanrooms.

1. Potential Contamination

A tiny amount of lubricant mist is released through the pilot vent. In medical or semiconductor packaging, this can be an issue.

2. The Solution

You can use a "Pilot Exhaust Collector" or choose a variant that vents into the main exhaust gallery. For most industrial uses, simply ensuring the area around the coil is clear of sensitive electronics is enough. Maintenance Tip: If you see oil leaking from the top of the coil, your internal pilot seals are failing and it's time for a rebuild.
