Outdoor Pneumatics: Protecting Your 4V210-08
While the Airtac 4V210-08 is designed for indoor industrial use, many outdoor applications (like car washes or irrigation) require its 5/2 way logic.
1. IP65 is not Waterproof
The 4V210-08 is rated IP65, meaning it is dust-tight and resistant to water splashes. However, it cannot handle direct, constant rain or submersion. Always use a protective NEMA or IP-rated enclosure for outdoor installations.
2. Temperature Fluctuations
Sunlight can heat the valve body far beyond its 70°C limit. Use a sunshade or vented box. Conversely, in winter, ensure the air is 100% dry; any moisture trapped inside will freeze and crack the internal pilot housing.
3. UV Protection
Standard PVC air tubes and some coil plastics can become brittle under UV exposure. Use black UV-resistant tubing and ensure the electrical cables are rated for outdoor use.
