4V210-08 Performance: Lubricated vs. Non-Lubricated Air

Diagnostic Guide: Fixing Solenoid Humming in 4V210-08

A buzzing or humming noise from your Airtac 4V210-08 coil is not just annoying—it is a sign of impending electrical failure.

1. AC Voltage Issues (AC220V / AC110V)

Humming is most common in AC models. It usually occurs when the armature inside the coil cannot seat fully. This is often caused by:

  • Dirt or Rust: A tiny speck of dust on the magnetic surface.
  • Low Voltage: The coil doesn't have enough power to pull the plunger all the way in.

2. DC Buzzing (DC24V)

If a DC coil hums, it is often due to "Pulse Width Modulation" (PWM) signals from a PLC that are set incorrectly, or a failing power supply with a high ripple current. Immediate Action: A humming coil will overheat and melt its plastic housing within hours. Shut down the system and inspect the coil resistance immediately.
